The Rutlands® belt and disc sander is excellent for shaping, detail work, denibbing and fine-finish sanding. The brushless induction motor is extremely quiet in operation and features sealed-for-life bearings to prevent dust ingress. An automatic belt tensioning and tracking system ensures consistent belt alignment and belts can be quickly changed without the need for tools.

The body and frame are cast for vibration free sanding and rigidity, and sit on rubber no-mar feet to prevent movement underload. The cast tables have large surface areas for maximum workpiece support and can be tilted through 45° for sanding mitres and compound mitres, when using the mitre gauge.

Two, 35mm outside diameter dust ports ensure efficient dust extraction when connected to a vacuum. Supplied with a NVR safety switch, mitre gauge, 100 grit disc and 80 grit belt, this is a premium performance compact belt and disc sander that will allow for precise, fine-finish sanding of soft and hardwoods when home woodworking, model making, furniture and cabinet making.

Fantastic sander

This has exceeded my expectations and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Best 1x30 I have ever used

I have owned one other 1x30 hobby belt sander (Clarke) and used another make in a mates workshop. Both sanded ok but the belt tensioner, the ease of belt changing and the tracking adjustment on this Rutland means it is far superior to the others.

The brushless induction motor is smooth and quiet and there is no vibration. It also spins very slightly faster than the Clarke (2980rpm vs 2850rpm)

I think it is worth every penny of the list price, luckily I was able to use a sign-up code to get £10 off and for £110 this is an absolute bargain.

No vibration

Excellent sander with no vibration, allowing for great control. Good levels of torque when working on end grain

Great for sanding joints

This is a good quality sander with a good deal of power behind it. Great for small work pieces and where you need to be very accurate when sanding joints.

Excellent build quality

I click and collected my new disc and belt sander from Rutlands yesterday. It took less than 5 minutes to assemble as you simply need to add the two tables. The motor is very quiet and the machine runs smoothly without the need to bolt to a bench. The build quality is very high and I particularly like the adjustment control which allows you to add and tension the belt, tool-free. I connected the disc sander dust port to my shop vac and it did a good job at removing the dust. It may be small buts it's a very solid and well built sander.
