The new 2006 Tormek grinding system has the new and unique universal support with built in micro adjusment. By turning the dial you can infinetely adjust the height of the support for pin point accuracy. For the discerning woodworker & craftsman this is the ultimate in Swedish sharpening systems.The 200 watt rated induction motor can be run on a continuous basis and is housed in a steel main frame for rigidity when grinding & sharpening large workpieces.It has twice the weight of the 1206 model.The Supergrind wheel which is 50mm wide by 250mm diameter rotates at 90rpm and is cooled by water from the removable trough.The leather wheel measures 31mm by 220mm in diameter and adds that mirror finish and razor sharp edge to the workpiece.A carrying handle is attached to the head of the unit for transportation. This unit is ideal for the cabinet maker and discerning home woodworker who will frequently be sharpening a broad range of tools including planer blades.

Supplied with a straight edge jig, angle master, honing compound,130 page 'how to' book with 450 line drawings, video,micro adjustable universal support, premium grade stone, horizontal base. This has a 4 year manufacturer warranty.

Originall i bought the smaller Tormek only to find out that it doesnot accept the planer blade jig.So i ended up exchanging it for the 10" machine.I estimate that i have saved over £200 by sharpening my own blades.I buy reclaimed timber and although i use a metal detector i always seem to find a way of hitting a nail.It is an excellent sharpener apart from the poor instruction manual - the video however tells you all.

Excellent machine, bought one earlier this year after much consideration due to the cost. Easily the best sharpening system on the market. Worst thing was running out of things to sharpen. Does a fantastic job, so good I can now shave with my chisels. Now find sharpening my chisels is quite therapeutic, even the wife enjoys sharpening now. Looking forward to getting the planner knife jig to tune up my thinknesser.

After years of sharpening my tools with a normal dry grinder and oil stone combination, with moderate success. I decided to splash out on this new Tormek 10" grinder, I have to say that I am very impressed both by the quality and ease of use of this machine. For the first time in years I am enjoying the sharpest of chisels and plane blades with the least amount of effort and in the shortest possible amount of time. I only wish that I had bought one sooner. Both the video and the manual are excellent and very easy to understand. Bought from Rutlands at the best market price I could find and am delighted with this superb product. As a pattermaker used to the old hand grinding method, I never had better edges than I can now obtain. Straight from the box it works great - all you need to do is watch the video first for two or three times and you'll have really first class results. I also purchased many of the accessories and now I'm broke! but happy.

I have had this bench grinder for a few years now and i think it is pretty good but personally first i prefare to first grind ie a chisel to the correct angle and then i like to finish off by using a japanese waterstone 10,000 grit to give the absolute edge.
