Dakota Bench Grinder Sharpening JigDescription | Customer reviews Achieve professional sharpening results from a standard bench grinder with this new grinding system. With a base that sits under the grinder, this system is based on a moving arm which can be fully adjusted to suit the tool being sharpened. With the grinder switched off, set the arm to the length which allows you to present the tool at the correct angle for the desired grind. Once set, lock the arm, start the grinder and present the tool, keeping the tip of the handle in the holder at the end of the arm. This can be used for straight chisels and some gouges. For other gouges requiring a special grind, a variable attachment is included which allows the grinding of bowl gouges and fingernail gouges. A special attachment is also included for grinding skew chisels. This ensures that the bevel is parallel to the blade edge and that the bevel is flat. This is an important feature of this jig as most jigs will cause a hollowing of the bevel resulting in a poor cutting skew chisel.
