The problem with routing hinge mortices is that you are always left with a mortice with rounded corners and most hinges have square ones. You could square them up with a chisel, but there is a good chance you could over cut or even not cut the corner straight. Eliminate the problem with this handy corner chisel. Corner chisels are used for squaring up hinge recesses in door frames and lock recesses in doors. Featuring an L shaped blade, the corner chisel cuts a prefect 90 degree angle every time. Simply line up with the rounded corner of the mortice, tap the firing pin with a hammer and a true clean square edge is produced. This corner chisel is fully resharpenable, has a width of 29mm and is 70mm tall. This is an essential piece of kit for anyone who routs their hinge or lock mortices. ©

Brilliant little tool for squaring up the rounded corners of routed hinge mortices. Does the job with no fuss and is simple to line up.
Name: Peter Watson. Rating: 5/5
A cracking piece of kit. I fit wooden doors and used to chisel out the corners of my hinge mortices before I bought this. This corner chisel makes it so much faster to square the corners and leaves a nice, clean square corner. I can't recommend it highly enough.
