Trend have designed this powerful 1/2" router for use both as a handheld router and in a router table. Its 2000W motor has variable electronics which means that when the cutter hits a knot or harder part in the wood, the motor compensates for this extra load and cutter speed is maintained. The soft start ensures there is no sudden movement of the machine when it is switched on and the spindle speed is fully adjustable between 8000 - 20000 rpm. With a spindle lock and a hex collet nut, cutter change is fast and simple. In handheld mode this router can take up to a 70mm diameter cutter, which increases to 86mm when the router is table mounted. The two column base has phosphor bronze bushes for greater plunging accuracy and a revolving three position depth stop for repeatable cutting. The aperture in the base plate is 75mm and the router has "zero plunge" which means that no cutter depth is lost when the machine is mounted in a table. The in-built fine height adjuster system can be activated above and below the machine with a single turn of the handle raising or lowering the cutter by 1.5mm. This is particularly useful when the router is table mounted and the adjustment can be made from above the table. Incorporated in to the base plate design is a quick release system for the dust port. Available for this router is a quick release fixing kit for router tables. This enables the router to be fixed and removed with ease. A precision fence with micro-adjuster is included for straight edge work. Supplied with 1/2" collet, fine height adjuster, 30mm guide bush with inner plate and line up pin, 35mm clip in dust spout, side fence with micro-adjuster, 22mm hex spanner and carry case.

I bought this router to fit it in a table. I chose this model for its height adjustement instead of buying a table insert with a lift mecansim. I am very pleased with my decision. This router is perfect for this kind of use, with plenty of power under control, wide opening, a switch that stays on (rare these days) and a good collet. The height adjustment works a treat in a table once you have drilled the 20mm hole in the insert plate. It may not be the best choice for non-table operations (unless all you do is worktop joinery) and if your budget allows, I would consider a router like Festool's FS1400 which is a league away in terms of quality, refinement, ease of use, ... and price. Still, a very good router (made by DeWalt and CMT in Italy).

Exceptional router. Very powerful, but with a nice soft-start. Its key feature is the height-adjuster in both upright and especially table-mounted mode. the fence is nice worked when you get used to it. It is very heavy and that takes some getting used to especially if moving up from a 1kw (or similar) 1/4" machine. Well worth the money.

I bougth this router as a replacement for my 20yr old elu 177e.The elu decided to give up after a long and hard working life. TheT11EK is a big improvment on the elu, the hight adjustment its self when mounted in a table safes loads of time. If this router lasts as long and serves as well as the elu did i will be very pleased. Well done trend for an excellant machine.
