Lime is one of the most popular woods for carving and whittling. A domestic species and readily available in the UK, the lime tree produces a pale coloured timber that is easy to cut and carve, has a fairly straight grain and is relatively free from knots. Available as a block for carvings in the round and as a board for relief and chip carving, the lime we are offering here is 1st quality, so it is free from major flaws and knots and is kiln dried for stability. Each piece is sawn to the dimensions stated and will not be supplied undersized. The pieces are cross cut to length so you can be assured when ordering that the piece you receive will have the grain running along the length of the wood rather than along its width. ©

Bought a couple of these lime boards and I am impressed wth the quality which better than the lime I have sourced from other companies in the past. Good straight grain with no faults or cracks. Will certainly buy some of the carving blocks when I get around to it.
