An ideal companion in your greenhouse, this gardening knife has an ultra sharp blade for precise clean cutting ideal when taking cuttings or grafting one plant on to another. The layered blade is hand forged by a Japanese master blacksmith and features a back and cutting edge of blue paper steel with a softer low alloy steel forge welded over the top. Blue paper steel is made with a high purity iron ore with carbon tungsten and chromium added. This produces a steel that is very hard, tough and durable and sharpens to a razor like edge. The softer steel over the top strengthens the blade and reinforces the very hard blue paper steel layer. The blade features a decorative hammer finish on this softer steel and the single bevelled edge is honed ready for use. The handle is made from Japanese cherry and the blade folds smoothly in to it when not in use. This ultra sharp gardening knife has a 120mm blade. Made in Japan. ©
