This is a modern take on the traditional style sickle and is very useful for many cutting and trimming tasks around the garden. The hand forged, stainless steel blade has a serrated edge rather than the usual smooth cutting edge and this allows the sickle to be used in a similar fashion to a saw. The teeth cut on both the pull and push stroke making light work of cutting through harder growth such as woody stems and small branches and limbs as well as making this sickle ideal for harvesting crops such as cabbages, salad leaves etc. This sickle has an integral tang for greater strength in use and the blade is mounted onto a solid, 395mm long magnolia wood handle. This handle is unfinished giving the user a firm, non-slip grip even when wearing gardening gloves. Perfect as a cutting or harvesting tool, this sickle will soon prove its worth in any size of garden from a couple of acres down to a couple of window boxes. Made in Japan. ©
