Produced by one of the oldest scythe makers in Europe, this scythe benefits from a manufacturing history that dates back over 450 years. Over this time, the company has developed and built their own special machinery allowing them to produce the thinnest, sharpest blades possible. There are many advantages to using a scythe instead of a conventional mover. A scythe does not need a power cable or fuel making it cheap to run and highly portable, it will go and cut anywhere you want it to without making the loud noises associated with powered mowers. As you operate and, in effect, power the scythe it gives you greater control in where and how severe you cut. There is also the joy and immense satisfaction you get from using such a marvellous tool. The 600mm blade is made from carbon steel and peened to give it increased strength. This blade is ultra thin and has a razor sharp cutting edge that lets it glide through the grass it is cutting. Known as the snaith, the shaft of the scythe is oval in cross section and shaped in two dimensions for greater user comfort. Height adjustable, the snaith can be lengthened or shortened to suit the requirements of any user. The contoured wooden handles are ergonomically shaped for a good, firm grip.
