Fitted with specially contoured power grip handles, these robust carpenter's chisels are designed for larger jobs that still require an accurate cut. Made in Germany, the extra wide blades are forged from high quality chrome vanadium steel and, unlike cheaper alternatives, are hardened to Rc-61 along the entire length of the blade and finally mirror polished. These chisels take longer to sharpen to a razor sharp edge, but will retain a sharp edge for longer. A shock absorbing leather washer is sited between the bolster and handle protecting the tool. The oversized hornbeam handle offers the user greater comfort and control in use and is supported by two steel reinforcing rings to prevent the handle from spreading when hit repeatedly with a hammer. Available in four sizes, these chisels have an overall length of 355mm. ©

The blades are premium quality German chrome vanadium; a metal that has a much higher resistance to metal fatigue than other tool steels and is perfect for tools that are designed to be struck with a mallet. Each blade is tempered and hardened to RC-61 along its entire length, giving a blade that will take and hold a razor sharp edge as well at the end of its working life as it did when new. The handles are made from slow growing European hardwoods selected for their straight grain and strength. Supported by a steel band, the handles will not spread or split in use and offer exceptional support to the deep seated tangs. Precision ground and sharpened before they leave the factory, MHG chisels are built for hard work and perform flawlessly.
