Ideal for adding extra vice capability to an existing workbench or as a starting point when building a new bench, this front vice is very easy to install. Running on two machined steel guide bars and a fast action single lead acme screw, this vice has an exceptionally smooth movement in use and the jaws remain square at all times. The main centre screw is offset to allow vertical clamping of work pieces without skewing and the rolled thread is incredibly resistant to wear. All of the main components are machined grey iron casting to ensure a controlled movement and feature a durable powder coat finish. This vice mechanism is supplied without wooden jaws allowing the user to tailor the vice to their own specific needs. The vice measures 10 1/2" x 20" and has a clamping capacity of 13" less the thickness of the jaws. Supplied without mounting hardware. ©

Brought one for a new workbench I was building and I'm very pleased with it. It feels like a quality made product with no loose parts. The only disappointing thing is that there are no installation instructions included and you can't buy the handle from Rutlands. Despite this I would recommend this product. If a fitting template and/or fitting instructions had been included I would have given this the full 5 out of 5.
