Ideal for those tasks that are too small or delicate to clamp in a standard size bench vice, this new reversible vice with soft jaws is the perfect addition to any woodworker’s workbench. With a generous clamping capacity of up to 175mm, this compact vice makes a very useful addition to any work bench. Manufactured from solid cast iron, this vice has a reversible jaw which almost doubles the clamping capacity from 90mm up to 175mm. Easy to swap, the front jaw is removed and placed on to the back of the vice giving the extended capacity. The 90mm wide jaws are covered with polypropylene which gives a soft yet very firm grip, perfect for holding delicate or finished surfaces without marring. V grooves are cut out in the surface of the jaws to make clamping cylindrical objects such as pipes and irregular shaped objects much easier. These grooves run both horizontally and vertically along the pads for maximum convenience. For accuracy, the body and sliding jaw are aligned using two precision machined steel rods as well as the rolled main screw. Offering a throat depth of 40mm, this highly versatile vice has a generously sized cast iron base which comes drilled to be mounted onto a work bench. The lifetime guarantee on this Dakota vice means that it will be free of any manufacturing defects. If any customer finds any manufacturing related defect, the product will be replaced free of charge. ©

Name: David Lynch. Rating: 5/5
Well engineered vice that is perfect for my knife making work where the soft jaws come into their own.
The 360 degree rotation is another great feature which helps when carving and sanding exotic wood handles.

The soft jaws were the real selling point for me. I have other vices and have tried using magnetic soft jaws with little success. Making items of jewellery from both wood and metal, this vice lets me grip the piece tightly with no risk of damage to my work.
