Ideal for larger drilling tasks that require the precision of hand drilling rather than the speed of power drilling, this large brace will make light work of the job in hand. The all steel body and chuck are chrome plated for extra durability and the top knob is mounted on a race of ball bearings for extra smooth and reliable movement. The two jaw chuck will accept bit shanks up to 3/8" in diameter. A freely rotating handle on the crank makes operation comfortable for the user and both this and the top knob are made from solid wood. This brace is a traditional tool which is still very efficient at its job. ©

Having learned my craft in the days before power became the answer to everything, I still believe that you really can't beat proper hand tools and this brace is no exception. It runs very smoothly and makes light work of deep drilling. May not be as fast as a power drill but it is certainly more accurate.
