An essential piece of equipment for furniture and cabinet makers, countersinks and plug cutters allow you to hide unsightly screw holes giving a professional finish to your work. These sets consist of one countersink and a matching diameter plug cutter and are available in 8mm, 10mm and 12mm diameters. Made in Japan from high carbon steel, these plug cutters and countersinks are precision machined to give a precise, absolute diameter so that the plug fits perfectly into the hole drilled by the countersink. Both items are mounted on industry standard 1/4" (6.35mm) hex shanks and will fit into any quick change chuck or may be held directly in any drill chuck. The countersink is two stage meaning that it drills a pilot hole for the screw first and then produces the plug hole as you drill deeper in the wood. Deep flutes running up the countersink and the large throat of the plug cutter ensure excellent waste removal and prevent the bits from clogging or binding in use, even when used on wet wood. These are professional quality bits for use on hardwoods and softwoods and should not be confused with lower cost alternatives that give lower perfomance and poorer results. Made in Japan. ©
