This strong, yet comfortable multi-task hammer is a toolbox essential for both professional carpenters and discerning home woodworkers. The head is perfectly balanced, finely polished and features a smooth face and a standard rip claw. Recently updated, the integral steel strike plate features a matt finish to improve contact with a hammer face. The side nail pull provides maximum leverage for removing both small and large nails. A magnetised nail set allows you to position and start nails in hard to reach places where hand holding of the nail is not possible. The 14" hickory cross over handle combines the balance and symmetry of a traditional straight handle with the ergonomics of an axe handle resulting in smooth, controlled hammering. An excellent tool.. ©

I have owned one of these"beauties" for 5 or 6 months now. I am a "pro-am" woodworker and my friends are overtly envious of it. It is a constant talking point being referred to as Pete`s "SWANKIE OR FANCY HAMMER". Occasionally even a "POSH HAMMER". I take it everywhere now and Wear it with pride. Truly astonishing nail pulling ability with the side puller. It has taken over from my Dewalt tools as my favourite.

Once you use this hammer you will never use another Estwing again. It is beautifully crafted, beautifully finished and designed to last.

got one ages ago, it was obviously meant for me - then I kept it in a drawer as it looks far too good to hit nails with.
Anyway, christened it this weekend - handles really well, seems to deliver a lot of follow-through for its weight. Best of all though, it just looks REALLY good. Need a 15oz one now!

Brought this hammer because i have big hands and developed a bit of a problem with my hand. The handle is slightly thicker than my easty which i have had since a lad (40 now). The problem eleviated and then went.
Never thought i would say it,but i have had it a year now and despite being lighter than my Estwing by 2oz it drives a nail better. It also feels great and has great balance.
Its a bit pricey for a hammer to be truthful, but it was worth its weight in gold for me.
