This extremely strong yet light in weight hammer is favoured by cabinet makers and second fix joiners for final finish work. The head is perfectly balanced, finely polished and features a smooth face and a chisel tip standard rip claw. Newly updated, the steel strike plate now features a matt finish for improved functionality. The side nail pull provides maximum leverage for removing both small and large nails. The 12" turned hickory handle is designed for comfortable, controlled driving of the nail and the patented head to handle interface minimises vibration whilst maximising strength. ©

This hammer oozes quality. You feel guilty about using it. The mirror polish finish makes it stand out from any other hammer. Bye bye Estwing.Excellent.

Fortunately, I do not think that I had ever bought a hammer before (reshafted old heads...) and so I did not feel guilty when I bought the 18 oz and then then 15 oz models in this range. What can I say: superb! .... I wonder if anyone sells any polished nails?

I am a keen amateur woodworker/DIYer. I have a 6oz ball pein, a 10oz Warrington and a 2lb ball pein hammer. For general use I find the 10oz a bit light, but the 2lb far too heavy. Having decided to buy a new hammer for the first time in 30 years, I found it very difficult concluding whether to spend this much on a hammer - and whether to go for this or a titanium one. In the end, I settled on this one and I think I made the right choice! (For a hammer) it gives pleasure to use - partly because it is nicely finished and looks good so makes me feel good using it but also because it is nicely balanced and a good weight. I don't bash first fix nails all day - if I did, it would perhaps be a bit light. My only criticism is that the grain was slightly raised on the handle - disappointing given the price - but 2 minutes with wire wool/ 400 grit and it was fine. A pleasureable tool.
