With its fine, 15mm wide cutting edge this Japanese marking knife is the perfect size for smaller more detailed work but will handle larger marking out tasks with ease. The slender form of this knife fits comfortably in the hand for a pencil type grip giving you absolute control of the blade. The blade is made up from two layers of steel; a hard, high carbon steel layer which forms the back and cutting edge of the knife and a tougher steel layer over the top to protect the harder steel from knocks and jolts. The cutting edge is extremely hard and fine and will hold its edge much longer than other blades. This resistance to dulling makes it an ideal marking knife for very dense and exotic woods that can often dull blades very quickly. The knife has a single bevel for right hand use and the back is hollow ground to make flattening the back of the blade faster when sharpening. In the traditional style, the handle and blades are forged as one piece. A useful knife capable of very precise work. Made in Japan. ©
