This very versatile Dozuki saw features a curved toe with rip teeth allowing it to make cuts in the middle of panels and boards. With their very thin blades and fine tooth pitch, Dozuki saws are used for cutting joints and making delicate trimming cuts. Although cutting on the pull stroke keeps the blade in tension through the cut, these blades are so fine they require the support of a reinforcing spine along their back. This prevents any chance of the blade bending or flexing during cutting to ensure the straightest, most accurate cut. The dozuki is the perfect saw for producing hand cut tenons and dovetails in all species of hardwoods as well as for cutting and trimming mouldings and other architectural details.

The Dozuki's ability for very fine cutting and its very fine blade means that, in use, this is not a saw to be forced. When cutting with a Dozuki, let the weight of the saw combined with its very sharp teeth do the work for you. Pull the saw firmly to cut with it, but do not exert any downward pressure as this will prevent the saw from cutting correctly. At the end of the stroke push the saw back, very gently, to the starting position to clean the kerf.

Once you get the hang of using a pull saw it does seem to cut easier and faster. It's a good saw and one that will definitely be usefull in the future.
