This dual marking gauge is a well thought out, well designed addition to the very popular range of Veritas wheel marking gauges. Ideal for marking out mortice and tenon joints, this marking gauge features two independently adjustable rods with hardened steel cutting wheels. This allows you to mark out two measurments at once and the wheels cut through the wood fibres rather than tear them, as a hardened pin would do, to leave a clean, precise mark. Internal O rings in the head of the gauge keep a constant, but light pressure on the rods preventing them from moving in use. The head of the gauge is made from machined aluminium and features a large brass reference face. This gives the gauge stability in operation and, when not in use, the cutting wheels can be retracted fully in to this face to protect them from damage. The stainless steel rods are placed eccentrically in the head to prevent the gauge from trying to roll during deployment. This gauge measures 181mm in length. Made in Canada. ©
