The steel blades are hardened and marked with both Imperial and metric scales in 1/32" and 1mm graduations respectively. Both blades and beams are precision ground for squareness and offer accuracy of less than 0.001" deviation per inch over the entire length of the blade. I purchased this set of engineer's squares and I'm extremely impressed with the quality. The graduations on the blades are very helpful and the wide beams let these sqaures stand up on their own which is great when setting a saw blade. Brilliant value.
