Unlike many similar planes on the market, this rebate plane features a blade skewed at a 30 degree angle. This modification is highly beneficial to the performance of the plane as it reduces cutting resistance and also helps to pull the fence tight up to the wood. Made from ductile cast iron, this plane has a precision ground sole and sides with the blade extending the entire width of the plane body. This allows the plane to make clean and very accurate corner cuts. A sharp adjustable scoring spur sits in front of the blade and helps to reduce tear out when planing across the grain. The 1/8" thick A2 steel blade is easily adjusted using the set screws in the side of the plane. A side mounted shoe acts as a stop for depths up to 3/4" and can be removed for deeper work. Pre-drilled to accept user made subfences, the cast iron fence features double guide rods for extra stability and the brass thumbscrews make it simple to adjust without tools. This plane measures 9 3/4" long and weighs 3 1/2lbs. ©
