Used for final trimming cuts on jointed boards to ensure smooth edges exactly 90º to the face. A full 25mm cut can be made and the plane is drilled and tapped allowing wooden wedge to be fixed to the fence for cutting bevels. The fence and plane are 156mm overall. The 12º bed angle and 30º blade skew are suitable to work end grain as well as edges of boards. These planes weigh 600g. ©

I purchased this plane to help me make my first musical instrument where it was absolutely critical to have all constituent pieces at a perfect 90 degrees. Working in rock maple and american black walnut, the walnut especially has some very difficult grain. After taking some time to burnish the blade (not quick due to its hardness!) I have been amazed at how thin and see through some of the shavings have been. In short this plane made a mockery of difficult grains, the planed finish needs no further finishing. I have 2 Veritas planes now and cannot fault them at all.
