Perfectly formed to fit comfortably in one hand, this small scraping plane produces exceptional results. The leading edge of the plane is lapped to prevent it catching and marring the work and the blade occupies the entire width of the plane allowing it to scrape right up to a perpendicular surface. Made from high carbon steel the 1mm thick blade is ground at an angle of 45º and the fixed frog seats the blade at 20º giving a combined optimum scraping angle of 65º. The blade can be bowed as required using the brass set screw to prevent the blade corners leaving ridges in the wood. Ideal for use on complex grain patterns and exotic woods, this plane has a cast ductile iron body and measures 133mm in length. ©
