Originally designed for gentleman's tool kits which were selections of premium quality tools that were for occasional use and of a smaller scale to general woodworking tools. These saws are capable of much more than simply occasional use and are ideally sized for cabinet and box making and for cutting tenons, dovetails and other fine joints. Available with rip cut and cross cut tooth formations, both saws have 197mm long blades manufactured from high carbon steel. The blades are only 0.3mm and the teeth have a 0.08mm set to them allowing these saws to make exceptionally fine cuts in all species of hardwood and softwood. Due to the exceptionally fine blade, gent's saws have a spine similar to tenon and dovetail saws. This supports the blade preventing it from buckling or bending during cutting. Incorporating the very latest technology, the spine is made up from a polymer resin reinforced with glass fibres and with stainless steel powder added to it to give extra weight to the saw. With the ultra sharp teeth, these saws cut easily under their own weight. The spine gives the saws a maximum cut depth of 41mm. These saws have a straight bubinga handle that is contoured to fit comfortably in the hand and is held in place with a brass nut. The cross cut saw has 22 tpi and the rip cut saw has 20 tpi.
