Forstner bits are favoured when drilling out knots in hard woods and soft woods and when cutting half or overlapping holes. The edge of the forstner grips on to the wood and does not rely on the centre point to keep it accurately located. This set of six bits will all leave flat bottomed holes whether used to drill straight or at an angle and the design of the forstner cutters ensures that they produce clean, smooth sided holes. The set comprises 10mm, 12mm, 16mm, 20mm, 25mm and 35mm high speed steel bits with 1/4” hex shanks. Each bit measures 3” in length and can be used directly in any drill chuck or in the optional quick release chuck. ©
