Specifically designed with the woodturner in mind, this naked leather apron offers total protection from wood shavings without restricting any movement. Made in America, this turning apron is crafted from the finest top grain vaquetta cowhides which remain unfinished to give it exceptional durability and strength whilst also retaining its soft luxurious feel. The deep knitted collar prevents shavings and waste from getting into clothing and contains lycra which means it will not gape or sag after prolonged use. This collar features a hook and loop fastening on the back for easy adjustment and the innovative design of this apron means that the whole collar is fully detachable for washing. On the outside of the apron are two generously sized pencil pockets while on the inside of the apron are two large gussetted pockets to protect tools and accessories from dust and shavings. All pockets are reinforced with industrial quality steel rivets at high stress points and all seams are double stitched for added strength. The cross over back configuration of the straps ensures that the apron is fully supported by the shoulders and not the neck. Neck strap aprons often cause chafing and discomfort during long periods of use. The straps are easily adjusted for fit using the plastic clasp. At last someone has bothered to design a workshop arpon that is comfortable to wear. Being thick leather, this apron is fairly heavy compared with fabric ones but thanks to the design the weight is carried by the shoulders and not the neck. I prefer an apron to the conventional turners' smock as there is no restriction of movement at all. The removable collar is a useful addition and stops shavings getting into your shirt. Excellent quality and craftsmanship. Well done Rutlands.
