This traditional style carving knife is constructed to be used by any age of carver from child to adult. The large handle is easy to grip and allows absolute control of the blade but does not unbalance the knife making it very comfortable to use. The blade is hand forged from extra hard carbon steel and takes an exceptionally sharp edge and will not blunt easily making it an ideal knife for working harder woods such as oak. Forged as part of the blade, the tang sits deeply in the wooden handle giving the knife added strength and the blade handle assembly is supported by an aluminium ferrule. The handle is made from native Norwegian softwood and is hand turned and shaped for optimum grip and blade position. A favourite tool of many carvers, this carving knife is used by over 2,500 carving teachers and their pupils. Supplied with a protective leather sheath made from premium quality cowhide. The blade should be cleaned regularly and given a light coat of tool oil to protect it when not in use. Blade length 62mm. Made in Norway. ©
