Hold this knife in your hand and it feels like you are holding something historically important, something from another time or age. Simple in its form and designed to be functional, it would be disparaging to call this a mere utility knife but that is what it is. Look closely at this knife and you will appreciate the skill behind its simplicity, the workmanship that has gone into making this replica knife so authentic and also so very functional. Only the very finest materials have been used to create it. The three layered blade has a core and cutting edge made from white paper steel, a carbon steel that is made from high purity iron ore, carbon and nothing else. It will harden to a degree beyond other carbon steels and will take and hold an ultra fine razor sharp edge. Supporting this hard centre, a layer of softer iron is forge welded on either side of it to give added strength. The blade is hand ground and honed and etched with the signature of its maker. A long tang is forged as an integral component of the blade putting an innate strength at the very heart of the knife. The handle is formed from oak which, by its very nature, is hardwearing and strong. The handle is unfinished to afford the user a more secure grip in use. The handle and blade are pinned together and a hand forged, hammer finished ferrule supports the assembly making it fell very solid in use. This is a very uncomplicated knife; one which harks back to another era and in doing so provides you with a useful tool that will perform its tasks flawlessly.
