A wooden chopping board is an essential companion to any knife collection as plastic, glass and granite chopping boards can very quickly blunt and damage knife blades. When you consider it, Gingko is the ideal wood for chopping boards. A native Japanese wood, it is tough yet supple and will not damage delicate knife edges unlike harder woods. Gingko also has excellent antibacterial properties and will resist water, odours and staining, making it perfect for use in food preparation where foodstuffs like onions and tomatoes often leave their mark on lesser chopping boards. This chopping board is made from a single piece of air dried gingko. The benefit of having the board in a single piece is that there are no joint lines which may open up over time and there is no risk of the food coming into contact with glue residues. Easy to clean, this board simply requires washing with water and mild detergent after use. Perfect for any kitchen, this wooden chopping board measures a generous and highly practical 360mm x 210mm x 30mm. ©
