This knife block will hold four knives each with blade lengths up to 210mm and widths up to 80mm. The large slots are more than capable of accommodating the deep blades soba or usuba knives making it a practical choice in knife storage. Three of the four slots are 7mm thick with the fourth slot extra thick at 10mm. The shelves that form the slots within the block are removable allowing you to change the position of the thicker slot and also makes this block very easy to clean. Rather appropriately, this block is make from laminated strips of bamboo and is an ideal material for use in a kitchen. Unlike wood, bamboo will not absorb ambient moisture once dried and so will not swell, shrink or warp when exposed to the high humidity and fluctuating temperatures of the kitchen.
