Great little addition to any woodworker / joiners toolbox.Only used it a couple of times so far, but it really does save a lot of time around fiddly bits i.e. picture rails and skirting boards. easy to use and nice and smooth.

This is a much better than my old one. I like the heft, the magnets and thin strips along with the tension that holds the strips from moving without pressure on them. The plastic fingers are much better than the steel ones.

I used this when installing a wooden floor for my daughter, without it I would have ruined many boards with guesswork. The gauge copied the profiles around skirting boards and pipework with extreme accuracy.

Took the gauge out of the box and all the magnets immediately fell off. Apart from that it seems to be excellent at following profiles, with nice narrow strips allowing accurate shape transfer. Very smooth to operate.

I bought two as I needed a longer contour gauge...

I bought two as I needed a longer contour gauge. Joining them required completely disassembling one of the gauges and reinserting the plastic fingers. With the two together, I could do with an extra two fingers as there's a gap at one end, meaning that they slip rather too easily. Some of the magnets have fallen out, though the gauge has only had light use. Overall, it is good, but a little short of excellent.
