FULL DESCRIPTION
These new hollowing tools are very easy to control and allow you to focus on the shape of the turning rather than on the tool. They are suitable for both roughing out and delicate finishing cuts. The wide flat face of the blade shaft sits flush against the tool rest, automatically presenting the cutter at the correct angle to the workpiece. The 9mm diameter circular blade is manufactured from K10 carbide, which is extremely hardwearing, retaining its edge for longer even when working with hard and exotic woods. The blades are bevelled and will not clog in wet or resinous woods, ensuring a smooth and consistent finish to the workpiece. When the blade shows signs of wear simply rotate it around to an unused section to create a fresh edge.

The shafts of the tools are made from stainless steel, which is extremely durable and will not rust when in contact with wet or acidic wood. The full-size handles are ergonomically designed to allow for optimum grip and comfort and are made from a slow growing beech that has been selected for its straight grain, to ensure maximum strength. The shanks of the blades are buried deep into the beech handles and secured by a solid stainless steel ferrule.

This sharp curve hollower features a pronounced gooseneck curve designed for reaching into sharply undercut areas of the rim of the bowl. It is normally used as the final hollowing out tool, as it can reach areas of the inner bowl that the other two hollower can not reach. It will leave a smooth, super fine finish to the inner bowl. ©

Indulge your inner gynaecologist by entering through tight openings and feeling round corners in the dark. The 6mm scraping disc is not so large as to be overly aggressive and turning the tool handle anti-clockwise to present a few degrees below horizontal certainly helps reduce catches. The unusual tool test location took some adjusting to but the results are efficient and easily controllable.£60 seems a bit steep given the companion tool with the gentler curve is half price, but needs must when the devil drives!

A superb tool which cuts faster and leaves a far superior finish than any of my other bowl gouges.I have used it on all types of wood including oak, apple, cherry, sycamore and even pine. Going into end grain is no problem at all and it matters not one jot the size of the project from a 10" bowl down to a small eggcup.Having the tool rest much further away (to only the wide flat surface on the rest) was a little un-nerving at first but the tool cuts smoothly without any tendency to grab feeling both safe and comfortable in use.
