This vacuum cleaner offers outstanding performance and thorough cleaning in the home and workshop. In Germany this vacuum is used by more than 150,000 carpenters and craftsmen to maintain a dust-free workplace. The vacuum is compact and lightweight and can be carried with one hand, including the hose and accessories, due to the onboard tool storage.
The 1200W motor has enormous suction power of 260 mbar and features variable air-flow control, to adjust the suction to suit all floor surfaces. Extremely quiet in use at just 65dB, you can conveniently switch on and off by hand or foot. Any 230V power tool, less than 1500W can be plugged into the head of the vacuum and the automated socket then activates the vacuum simultaneously with the connected power tool. The vacuum will run for a further 5 seconds after the power tool is switched off to clear any dust left in the hose.
The vacuum has four-fold dust filtration, comprising of a Hepa fleece filter bag, Hepa filter cartridge, Hepa filter basket and Hepa filter sponge to ensure that the air re-entering the atmosphere is clean. Large, rubberised wheels offer stability and agility at the same time and the 5m heavy-duty rubber power cord can be safely stowed on the large, lockable cable hook. The body of the vacuum is made from a high impact polypropylene to withstand the knocks and bumps associated with professional use. The vacuum is supplied with a 2m highly flexible kink-proof hose, 2 x 500mm aluminium straight tubes, 300mm floor head, 100mm floor head, crevice tool, fleece filter bag and a stepped rubber adaptor to connect to the ports of power tools.

Bought this because I’d been let down by a different tool vendor with a replacement Makita effort and needed a new unit with power take-off the following day.
This thing is unbelievably powerful given its small stature and very quiet considering how much air it’s actually shifting. Did an entire waxed bedroom floor with an orbital sander at 40 grit with no loss of suction and no dust escape. Magic!
Not only that but it arrived without the internal bag so I emailed Rutlands had a 3 pack delivered in the post the following day..

This is a superb dust collector. I've linked mine to a cyclone and the two devices work superbly in conjunction with each other. The dust collector is remarkably quiet, and its 3 stage filtration system is equally superb. It has the added advantage that it has a small 'footprint'. It appears to be as equally effective as the Festool Cleantec Dust Extractors. which are in the region of FOUR times the price of this machine. I strongly recommend the Rutlands machine as an inexpensive substitute for the Festool range of dust extractors.
I’m a carpenter and this is one of the best vacs I have used. Great for site cleaning or dust extraction on tools, powerfull and quiet only negative i would say is the hose is a little shorter than I’d like, but not a big issue as it’s starndard vac hose so easily replaceable. All in all a great buy for the price, especially when it goes on sale
I was expecting it to be small, but initially when I opened the box I was disappointed-I thought there was no way it would live up to the description. Thought I might as try it around the house anyway before I sent it back. I started to reconsider when it lifted the lino in the kitchen. I'm glad I decided to keep it- so quiet and works well in my workshop.
Wow! Turned it on and my ears popped, my workshop door flew open and a passing jet dropped 1000 feet in altitude!
Seriously though, I have a very small space and using the router table or bandsaw etc. has meant having to leave the door open until the air clears (Of course I used a mask)… not so anymore.
The provided rubber adapter didn’t fit any of my fixed power tools so made up some adapters with plastic waste pipe and electrical tape which work perfectly.
Overall the machine is well made with excellent suction and filters, it’s light and easy to manoeuvre. It can be used with or without the bag and has a large removable filter which seals well between the removable top and the base. It really does have a high level of suction and so you need to be careful when using it for regular vacuuming… don’t try cleaning around your tools unless you’re happy to go digging through the dust bag to retrieve them (that happened).
