This is a heavy duty disc and belt sander and is ideal for all wood finishing applications whether working with or across the grain. Manufactured from cast iron and weighing an impressive 18kg this sander will remain rock solid under load. The belt has a sanding surface area of 100mm wide by 400mm long and runs on a two rollers that are driven by a high torque 370 watt motor. A solid steel stop holds the workpiece firmly on the sanding belt and the belt can be adjusted for both tension and tracking using two separate controls. The 150mm sanding disc on the front of the machine is ideal for sanding smaller workpieces. The 5mm thick aluminium disc uses self adhesive abrasive discs and the aluminium disc will not distort even under heavy load. The large sanding table measures 230mm x 160mm and offers excellent support to the workpiece.
This sander is great value for money. However it is important to spend a few minutes setting the machine up correctly. Previous comments about the drive belt failure are probably correct. Mine was very loose and would have failed without being re-tensioned. Oddly this is not a task covered in the manual, but easy to see how to do it once you have the cover off. The sanding belt is easy to change as is raising the carriage to vertical. Very little vibration in use and does not really need to be bolted down. Velcro discs would be sensible upgrade.

Have only recently received it, but so far it is performing very well. The 24 hour delivery was excellent.

Took delivery of mine within two working days of ordering it after buying and returning a similarly priced Clarke model from Machine Mart that was so poorly made it should never have been on sale.
When I got this one out of the box and saw how it all bolted together (a two minute job, no hassle) it looked very similar to the Clarke effort so I didn't have high hopes. I was wrong. It's an absolutely fine machine - runs smooth, good motor, accurate adjustment and the tasble holds firm in use. That last one is the most importmant for me, if I want to sand at 90 degrees I want it to actually be 90 degrees, not 93 or 87. I gor perfect 90 degree angles every time.
If you're budget is tight and you need a sander I doubt there's a better one on the market at this price.
All else being equal, this will do everything you want, do it well and do it for a chunk less money than any other machine of similar capabilities.

I am very happy with the performance of my new sander. It's nice and heavy and simple to operate. Great value.

Solid little sander that's got a very powerful motor that doesn't stall. I was about to buy a disc & belt sander from Screwfix - either the Scheppach or Record Power then I saw this one. It appears identical to both but it's £40 to £50 cheaper.

Really pleased with this sander. It is very solid and stays put in use. Easy belt changeover and simple to track. Well worth the money.

I turn a lot of pens and pencils and needed a machine that could square up the blanks and remove cutting marks. I must use this sander more than any other tool and it has never failed me. The only down side is having to remove the glue residue each time you change discs.
For all standard sanding jobs this sander performs a treat. It's simple design means nothing goes wrong. Changing and aligning belts is a breeze and when you connect to a dust collector you can see what your sanding. Glad I bought it.

Very pleased with this sander. The motor is really powerful and you struggle to stall the belt even when you exert to much force. Nice and solid machine that does exactly what I wanted it to.
