Nice looking planes. Sadly the low angle plane has a small casting fault, very noticeable, with black paint in the chip. Something that quality contol cannot have missed. If they wish to be a cheaper alternative to Veritas and Lie Neilson then quality control needs to be better. At this price they are on a par with second hand Stanley block planes, so a very good buy and I would recommend them at this price.

I have to agree with all the others here in praise of this little gem. The finish of it is superb but I was most impressed by its weight at over 800 grams. Its narrower than my old record but much more comfortable in the hand. This gives it a great feel and an inertia that makes it a pleasure to use. The Chinese can make good tools!

I have just bought one of these fantastic little block planes. Quite contrary to my usual choice, I don't as a rule by chinese stuff, however, this plane has already proven itself to be worthy of sitting amongst my stanleys a records.Infact I would go so far as to say it is better. Not only does it look good it works perfectly too. There was no need to mess about flattening the sole etc, just a quick hone to add the secondary bevel and it works very efficiently. T he machining is to a very high quality and it shows sraight from the box.

I bought plane this with a degree of trepidation, because of the price. I needn't have worried as the 5* reviews say it all. I already own a couple of Lie Nielsen planes, so comparing the two makes was easy. The quality and finish of the casting is faultless. The blade did need two minutes to true the back but it holds it's edge as well as any good quality blade and indeed is thicker than a 'Hock' which I bought for another low angle block plane some years ago. Most of my work is in English Oak. Blade adjustment is excellent with only a 1/4 turn of backlash. I could go on but this plane in my opinion is equal to makes two and three times the price. It's not long to Christmas !

This is my second Qiangsheng plane which both represent excellent value for money. As with all my planes I spent about an hour flattening the sole ( very close to flat anyway ) and finely honing the blade. The result was whisper thin shavings. Very pleased.

Flatten the sole, hone and polish the blade and then it takes super thin shavings. Good value for the money.

Just received this low angle rebate plane took it right out of the box and used it on a cabinet I am building. I was somewhat skeptical of a chinese manufactured product but it is reassuringly solid and cuts the finest shavings of any of my currrent planes. Highly recommended.

Was very impressed and would have paid full price for it, had it not been on special offer. Works wonderful and rebates cleanly and feels an easy fit in the hand.

Excelent, I'm very pleased with this. Very well made and a nice thick iron which sharpens well and holds a nice edge. I will definitely be buying more of this brand. Highly recommended.

So good I immediately bought a block plane also ! Proper engineering and there is nothing else in the price range that touches these for quality the new S*** SW range are doorstops in comparison. Lie Nielsen should be worried..very worried.

As a tool junkie, I have more than my fair share of Lie Nielsen stuff. Some of which is so pretty that I haven't used it. I was intrigued by what I had read about Qiangsheng planes so bought this when Rutlands had one of their unbelievable offers. The plane looks and generally feels good - worked fine out of the box - but honing took seconds and the plane was even better. The edges feel a little harsh in my hand but, apart from that, not a grumble.
