I purchased this kit to permanently mark our villages name on two public benches. Whilst it did the job, there were problems attaching the base, although it had many holes none fitted my Elu and Trend routers. Further drilling was necessary. Beware some letter combinations e.g. T next to O will produce odd spacing. I had to reposition the jig. Keep the sliding clamp as close to the router as possible, the letters have a habit of springing out of the rails

A very well made piece of kit and although a bit time consuming setting out the lettering and the frame it produces very good signs. Good to have 2 sizes of lettering supplied with the kit. Would highly recommend.

I bought this after many months of deliberation and consideration of the alternatives. Despite having not used a plunge router before my first attempt at making a house sign, using soft wood, was very successful. it certainly impressed my wife! The time consuming and frustrating action was fixing the base to my Bosch router. I got there eventually. I now need to try the kit to make signs using some oak planks. If you are wanting to make some signs this appears to be very useful piece of kit that can give very pleasing results.

Have used to make first house number sign. I personally found it very easy to set up and use however, I haven't used the included router base, instead I've used my steel Leigh bush insert for the router I use (identical to the one in the images) with brass guide bushes. Despite my bushes being metric as opposed to the imperial offered with the set I found very little in the end result. Very happy with my purchase and received quickly as is the standard from Rutlands.

I agree with others practice on scrap wood 1st the kit is very good and worth the money, tip make sure you have your work firmly clamped! As to not ruin a good bit wood when it moved.

I have yet to use this as I am having trouble getting the "Turnlock" bushings to fit the 7" Base Plate. It would appear that the "Turnlock" bushings are slightly oversize than the bayonet fitting on the 7" base Plate. To overcome this I think I will have to reduce the diameter of the bushings somewhat to get them to fit. This will, I fear, will reduce the effectiveness of the bayonet catch.

Just tried my first job with the sign pro. Really good, I agree with the others reviewer, get plenty of practice on scrap pieces as there are many settings to get just right. Good value and excellent service from Rutlands

I purchased this sign making kit recently and it does what it says on the tin. It was easy and quick to assemble and produced a very good sign. It would be better if the letter templates were made from aliminium, but you get what you pay for and this kit is very good value for the money. Recommended.
Brilliant. I can now make signs that run downwards. Why had no one thought of this before. Most glazed front doors do not have space for horizontal signs so a vertical sign is perfect for the door frame.
I have previously used anothe make of sign template and was constantly burning out the bushes that were made of plastic. This kit although a little more expensive initially has saved me time and money in not having to buy expensive spare bushes. It comes with metal bushes that do not overheat and melt away.
