This door lock jig is everything you could possibly need for the fitting of doors and locks. The sturdy aluminium jig comes with three sizes of drill guide and corresponding lip and spur drill bits and depth stops for producing mortises of up to 9” x 3/4”. The drill bits have deep flutes for efficient waste clearance reducing the chance of clogging when cutting deep mortises. Very easy to set up on use, simply clamp the jig onto the door, position the drill guide and drill. Move the guide until it is only just overlapping the first hole and drill again. Repeat until the mortise is the correct size as set with the built in stop. The mortise can then be cleaned up using a chisel. This set also includes a mortise stop and router cutter for routing mortises for hinges and strike plates and a hole saw and jig for the fitting of door hardware such as door knobs. Easy to use and fast to assemble and set, this door lock and hinge jig is perfect for anyone who fits doors and locks professionally. ©

An excellent peice of equipment. After the initial setup, routing out for hinges & locks are childs play. I recently fitted 11 new doors to a property in a morning, it would have taken hours more with a chisel etc.

I used to have seperate jigs for doing locks and hinges. Now I only ever use this. A brilliant bit of kit which can be clamped anywhere on the edge of the door regardless of how thick it is. Its great for hinges as the router bit means you dont have to calculate an off set, just set the jig to the size of the hinge and route. Id recommend this to any door fitter.

This jig has saved me lots of time and money since I first bought it. It allows me to cut lock mortises quickly, accurately and cleanly eliminating the laborious task of hand cutting them. I really do not know how I used to manage without it. My work now takes half the time it did.

Really good piece of kit if you are doing a lot of doors. Once set up to hinge size and position you fly through them, but you cannot use it on door frames (easy to make a small jig for this but normally just do frame rebates by hand). Door face lock cutting guide is for US style locks, not UK sash locks, but jig is good for drilling sash lock mortice and routing lock plate rebate. Overall a real time saver.
