Vibration from woodworking machines is a common problem that is not easily remedied. At its worst, it can hinder the performance of the machine and seriously affect accuracy. Much of this vibration is caused by ill fitting drive belts; a rubber belt under continuous tension will stretch over time becoming lose. If nothing is done about it, the resultant vibration can damage vital components such as bearings making the problem a more costly one to resolve. The power twist link belt is designed to drastically reduce vibration making your machinery perform better and extending its working life. Measuring 1/2" in width, this belt is made from a high tech composite of polyurethane and polyester which is extremely high in strength but has very little elasticity preventing the belt from stretching under tension. Unlike rubber, this composite material will not deteriorate in hot or oily conditions meaning it will last many times longer than a standard drive belt. Rather than consisting of one solid piece of polyurethane, this belt is made up of individual links allowing the belt to be tailored to the exact requirements of your machine. This design also has other benefits as any vibration picked up by the belt is dampened by the individual links and not transmitted to the rest of the belt.
