Product Details

Far removed from scissors as we are used to, these traditional nigiri take this extremely useful cutting tool back to its most basic form. In no way does that make them any less functional, in fact the design of these scissors makes them far easier to control when performing delicate cutting out. Held between the thumb and forefinger, these scissors make you feel that your fingers are actually doing the cutting giving you total precision in your work. Hand forged, these nigiri have a bi-metal composition; the body of the scissors is made from softer low carbon steel to give flexibility and the blades are made from high carbon steel hardened to Rc-61 to give an extremely sharp cutting edge. The blades are incredibly slender and this adds to the accuracy of the cut. It also means than when cutting very delicate materials, the nigiri are less likely to cause damage to the surrounding area. The 120mm long nigiri has 55mm long blades and the 105mm nigiri has 35mm long blades.
