FULL DESCRIPTION
Incredible power and precision in a compact body, this 1/4" router has been carefully engineered to provide a high quality and enjoyable routing experience. Open up a world of creative woodworking possibilities, whether trimming, joining, edge profiling or sign making this portable router will tackle all tasks with complete ease. Equally adept as a handheld unit or mounted in a router table, it will quickly become your go-to tool and an invaluable addition to your toolkit.

The tough main body and router base are CNC machined from strong aluminium die castings, offering superior rigidity and strength to withstand the most demanding of tasks. This aluminium construction also offers a lighter weight with the entire unit weighing under 3kg for more comfortable use and more precise control when routing by hand. The two large handles on the base feature a soft rubberised grip, ergonomically designed for comfort and control. On the base of the router is an anti-friction, non-marring plastic sub base to ensure a smooth sliding movement over the workpiece. Enjoy an effortlessly smooth plunge mechanism, giving you complete control during plunge cuts or whilst setting the height of your router bit. A three turret depth stop allows you to precisely control plunge depths and the base features a simple to use locking system when the height needs to be fixed.

The powerful 710W high torque motor generates an impressive output of 580W allowing you to tackle the toughest of hardwoods with confidence. Featuring a variable speed control dial, the motor speed can be adjusted from 13,000 to 33,000rpm, allowing you to select the speed most suitable for the diameter of your router bit. Higher speeds are recommended for smaller diameter bits, whilst the slower speed ranges allow for the use of larger diameter bits. Engineered with soft start technology, once powered on the motor will slowly increase in speed to the speed set by the user, eliminating dangerous kick back potentially leading to injury. This precision router has also been designed for quiet and vibration free operation further enhancing the safety and comfort of the user.

Included with 3 additional router bases, you now have the versatility to take on any project with complete ease. Each base is made from strong machined aluminium die casting offering incredible rigidity whilst maintaining a light ergonomic weight. The round trimming base reduces the profile of the router and with its large window close to the router bit, offers improved visibility allowing you to follow the cutting line of your workpiece more accurately. The result is more precise control whether you are trimming, edging and fine detailing your work. The offset base offers increased stability with a larger surface area and a geared design that offsets the router bit further towards the edge of the base, 18.5mm at its closest, allowing you to get in much tighter to walls and corners than a traditional plunge base would allow. The tilting base offers a 75° angle of movement with the base moving through -30° to +45° with easy one handed operation. This tilting design allows for different profiles when using the same router bit and is ideal for trimming laminated boards and other thin stock. Each base features an anti-friction, no mar phenolic sub base to ensure a wonderfully smooth sliding movement over the workpiece, for the smoothest, most accurate cuts.

The kit comes supplied with 1/4" and 3/8" collets, compatible with 1/4" or 3/8" diameter shank bits. Dust collection is handled with the included dust nozzle which fastens securely to the base, collecting dust at the source, close to the router bit. This keeps the working area clean, maintaining the quality of your cuts for the best possible results. Also included is an adjustable side fence to guide the router parallel to the edge of the work and a spare set of motor brushes. Highly recommended. ©

The standard base was perfectly fine for most uses but a bit awkward to manoeuvre when working close to edges ..this base gives me a larger surface area with that extra bit of stability...swapping bases is incredibly straightforward just unlock the clamp and slide the motor body out. I'm considering the tilting base next to expand the versatility of my router.

Purchased this to complete the set for my compact router.

Purchased this to complete the set for my compact router. Of equally good quality as the rest of my Rutlands routing gear. Really handy for getting into tight spots where the plunge base often proved too bulky. A great addition to the set, I am extremely pleased with it.

Good quality router base, can get some interesting results by altering the angle just from using the same bit. handy for trimming laminate too, a recommendation from me

This is a true mini beast.

This is a true mini beast. Its powerful and stable.I did have a tiny fault with one of the base tightening clamp fulcrum pins (nothing to do with the unit itself). I emailed Rutlands and a new clip was sent out the same day.In short. We'll worth the money.

Bought as part of a kit and wasn't sure it would get much use but its actually rather handy for chamfering edges using a straight bit, you've essentially got the choice to make whatever angle chamfer or bevel you choose. The angle locks in place firmly and the bottom section is large enough to provide ample support. Overall a good quality addition I'm sure I'll be getting plenty more use out of it

Precision depth adjustment

The fine adjustment thread ensures precise height setting, and a three turret depth stop provides three pre-set cutting depths.
